This proposed new building in Mt Wellington, Auckland was for the establishment of the first pharmaceutical production facility of its kind in New Zealand. The complex nature of the building required the prioritisation of the internal layout recognising safety, efficiency, regulatory compliance and product quality are key to the success of the facility. This translated to an external appearance and envelope structured around this internal layout. Innovative and creative thinking was therefore required to ensure that the building and design layout provided appropriate activation and visual interest.
