Kahawai Point Developments Limited (KPDL)

Large-scale master-planned coastal township

Encompassing 68 hectares of land, Kahawai Point is a coastal residential community located on a peninsula that sits between the Taihiki River and Waiuku River. The development lies south of Clarks Beach across the Taihiki River, 21.5km west of Drury and 10.5km north of Waiuku.

KPDL engaged Tattico to provide general planning advice and assist in obtaining a series of resource consents and Land Owner Approvals relating to the comprehensive development at Kahawai Point which will result in approximately 800 homes and a small neighbourhood centre.

Tattico undertook substantial engagement with mana whenua throughout all stages of the resource consent process. A key driver for the development of Kahawai Point from a cultural perspective is engagement with iwi and application of Te Aranga principles. KPDL and Ngāti Te Ata have a close strategic working relationship and Ngāti Te Ata have provided cultural advice since the inception of the project.
