Large-scale brownfield re-zoning and redevelopment
The Te Auaunga precinct is the largest ‘brownfield’ development site on the Auckland isthmus and strategically located given its proximity to two town centres, location on public transport routes, its size and topography, and its relatively central location in Mt Albert.
As part of a Treaty settlement, the Crown land is being transferred, and in turn developed, by three Rōpū comprising thirteen iwi entities.
Tattico has provided strategic planning advice to HUD and the Rōpū over 8+ years to navigate the transition of Carrington from its former tertiary education purposes to a significant iwi housing / mixed use development area including a plan change and numerous resource consents to support the development of 4,000 dwellings.
